So I haven't updated in a while and I have decided to update thee old blog.

So in the past couple of weeks, I have managed to score two big interviews. One being at Sony and the other interview was at Perfect World, an MMO based company. The Interview with Sony went well I suppose, I'm not sure why they didn't choose me but I figured that it was for the best. Perfect World on the other hand was a complete utter failure. I couldn't help but think right after the interview that I just had the worst interview and best interview I ever had; Worst because I answered every question out of my ass....I mean seriously, there were times in that interview that I just kept saying "Just stop talking, you're making an ass out of yourself".
I also say best because I have never been interviewed by some one dressed as prince.

Sigh.

On the brighter side, I managed to pick up DJ Hero this week and I can't stop playing it. It's one of those games that everything about it grasps you into the game. The gameplay, the music and the controller itself has the grip of my attention because I honestly feel like I am being the DJ mixing the songs. I already have a favorite track amongst the many mash ups this game has.

Whoever did the mix is fucking awesome.

Oh! Another accomplishment I've achieved this week is finally beating The Ballad of Gay Tony, the best DLC I paid for in months. The game's story is what kept me going, and Luis is definitely my new favorite GTA Lead, after playing it for a few hours. I always liked how Rockstar manages to make their stories very interesting to watch. Each damn game can easily be made into a movie with the right director behind it.

Anyways, I enjoyed the game and I give it a 8/10, based on the length of the game. It felt short.

I think after watching the trailer, Mel Gibson has redeemed himself from all that crazy nonsense he's been in......well in my opinion he has. The movie's concept reminds me of payback which was an awesome movie btw. I'm definitely going to watch this when it comes out.

Brutal Victory!

After 3 days of playing, I have finally finished Brutal Legend. After many hours of playing the story and completing most of the side missions, I can officially say that I was not bored of this game at all. I am completely satisfied with everything about it. The Music, the dialogue, the animation, the gameplay. It's everything that I hoped for and at the same time there were many surprises.

The one thing I started to like about the game was the RTS parts. I really didn't expect that in an action adventure type of game but it really had me going.

Here's a quick breakdown of it:

Your stage (Your HQ) is built at the beginning of the battle and scattered around the battlefield are open chasms that gush out souls which later in the game you find out are fans. When you're in control, you are told to build "Merch Booths", which manages the amount of fans you need to build your main units. Your units are the basic melee fighters, ranged attackers and healers but that's not the end of it, you'll get more units as you proceed through out the game. The whole point of the Stage battles if to take down the enemy's stage while you control Eddie around the battlefield while at the same time you're constantly commanding your units to either attack the enemy or defend towers. Sound fun? Well anyways.....

I think I've spent a total of 6-8 hours playing the game but after beating it, you can do the side missions if you skipped them or collect everything in the game which isn't that hard thanks to Achievement hunters for making a map that shows where everything is at. Honestly, when you're playing the game, try to collect everything you see. It definitely pays off in the end. For those who are playing it....the ending is worth everything. I am completely satisfied with it.

Good Job! Double fine for making an absolutely fucking brilliant and epic game. I'll leave you with one of my favorite parts in the game.

Long Time, No See

It's been a while since I've updated this blog, but I guess I should start again. I've neglected my dedicated work on updating about my life mainly because I never finish a project I set my mind to but on occasions I really do finish some projects I start.

For Example, just a week and a half ago (I think) I finished my third soldering project, First one being the pick ups on my old guitar and the second one was an LED flashlight I made using an altoids box.

This third project was on the very cheap Mayflash Arcade stick I bought on amazon.com and when I say cheap, I do mean cheap($30). The thing that convinced me to buy this stick was the lack of funds and the intriguing idea of learning how to play fighting games with stick. In my own opinion, learning to play on stick is pretty much how people learn how to drive manual. It's much better and overpowering in so many ways but I'd like to think of it as learning to play properly.

So after I received it in the mail (3 days of waiting), I finally was able to play KOFXII, SF2HD, MVC2 properly, or like the pros that play in tournaments like EVO. Unfortunately, I sucked big time on the arcade stick. I wasn't able to do certain moves, special moves and just play normally like I would on a controller. After much playtime on the arcade stick, I start to feel the balance of the joystick and how I would place my hands on my stick made a big difference on gameplay, but I wasn't happy. After much thought, I decide that I'd replace the joystick because I felt it was the cause of the problem and from reading the reviews on the stick that I bought, I was right about it; the stick sucked ass.

So I researched on how people modded their sticks and I found a great thread on Shoryuken.com dedicated solely to the Mayflash arcade stick.

So I ordered what was recommended for a joystick, which was the Sanwa JLF joystick which can be bought at Lizardlick.com.
NOTE: When you order, please allow lizardlick a week and half or so for shipping. They sell out of that stuff on the quick. VERY quick.

When I received it, I went straight to work and basically followed some simple guides like this one for example:

I also used this website, although its in french, if you translate it using google or babelfish, It's pretty easy to understand.

After 6 hours of work on soldering, it turned out to be one of the best arcade sticks I have ever played on. Every single move that I couldn't do on the original

stick was easily do-able on the new stick.

I was so proud of myself when I was done soldering, I didn't realize that I was up till 6am in the morning. =)

My Life felt complete but at the same time I craved for more, So I've decided to make a guide on my next project when I start replacing the original buttons with Sanwa replacements.

Iphone App of the Week.

Well i know it's Tuesday and all and I'd usually try to post "something of the week" either at the beginning of the week or the end of it but hey...it's my blog and i'll post it any god damn day that i want.

Anyways....

For this week's app, I'm going to have to give it to the blue man with the blaster gun.

Capcom's Megaman 2

Now i was sorta reluctant to get this game, even though i have my ways of getting apps for free....but based on the controls for most iphone games, I was ready for suckage.

....but thanks to the screen protector thingy i got from my girlfriend, playing on the iphone just became a bit easier. The one thing that bothered me when I was playing without the screen protector was that my hands and fingers get sweaty after playing on phone for a while and it does no good to your controls when your thumbs are wet. Most of the time I'd slide my hand to far to the side and it'll just piss me off.

If you can overcome that part about the iphone, you're pretty much set for the game. Now the main differences I have seen with this game compared to the original, is that it now has Difficulty options for people who aren't used to the controls or those who never played megaman before. It has become way easier. Easy mode is just way too easy. You can take on enemies with a few shots and the same goes for bosses but Hard mode is a different story...which i stay away from.

The game also sports a Portrait mode for those wondering if it was just only landscape.

I'd definitely give this game a shot if you're bored and need something new to play.

The weird dream I had last night.

So I totally forgot how it started so i'll write about it the way i remember it.

It all started (I think) at the EA Campus where I was walking towards one of the buildings that i used to work in with a few buddies of mine. I walk into the building where a bunch of interviews are being held and i see a few people that i recognize. One thing that i noticed very quickly is that all of the people i saw were people that i knew in real life that are unemployed and are currently looking for jobs. Very Weird....I wonder what that means?

Anyways, I walk around looking through doors and seeing all the new people getting their interviews from the staff. I walk out the building and head across campus into the auditorium that felt like a convention was going on. I find myself a seat near some small steps right infront/underneath a slanted pillar. While i sat there, i quickly glanced to my left and I saw this familiar face approaching me and it came into focus as that person got closer.

It was Bill Gates.....

As he walked towards me, I was in complete utter shock because I was in the presence of this Billionaire Geek God. I quickly tried to get up but for some reason i was stuck underneath the slanted pillar and i tried getting up multiple times but it was no use. His hand quickly reached over towards me and helped me up as i grabbed his hand for support. I thanked him and told him that it was a honor meeting him.

We chatted for a bit but all I could do was pay attention to his shirt because it was just morphing objects, words and flashing a bit like bright leds going crazy. I wish i wrote down what those words were but it was just too much for me to remember. After that, i woke up hearing my phone ring.

After hanging up to some random chinese person getting the wrong number twice, I fell back to sleep and the second part of my dream kicks in.....really fast. I'm pulled into a tunnel and I'm looking through the eyes of what it may seem like someone who was dressed as a jester. I was running through dark damp tunnels with a green aura lighting up the tunnels, reminded me of harry potter for some reason. Speaking of which, as I was running....I look behind me to find people chasing me with wands...pretty much..wizards. They all looked like deatheaters:

except no masks....I don't remember masks. Anyways....while i was running through the tunnels...i did jumps and acrobatic tricks in the air where I twisted and turned my body around while I throwing playing cards at each one of their faces with great aim and force. I took each one of them down fast as those cards cut straight into their faces like a knife to jello. It was pretty epic...till the last wizard took me down. A woman with the power of ice. As I was frozen.... My spirit quickly left the body and i was viewing the scene overhead.

Not to far away from the lifeless body of a man wearing a jester outfit....i see a strong green light walking through the tunnels. I quickly follow it and as i get closer to the light the image of someone familiar appears...

BAM!!! SEVERUS FUCKING SNAPE to the rescue!

But my dream ended after seeing his face....=(

So i was talking to Jaurel about my dream and he has a dream book that he bought from half.com and he sent me a link to a tarot card website that explained some stuff he was talking about like for example the big part that stands out in my dream was the jester. Why the hell was I a jester?

Well....I read the description of the card for The Fool aka the jester....here's a snippet of what that card describes the The Fool as:

Another Semi-Productive Sunday...

So another sunday passes and i can't help but think when will i find my next job?

I hate applying to places and not getting a single word from them stating that they're either not hiring or that you're getting a interview. Why don't companies just send us a thank you letter like how the four seasons sent me one when i applied to them a while back.

So I sent my second form for unemployment for my second check and i'm crossing my fingers hoping that they don't resend that shit back for a simple little mistake, like not signing with my signature. (It happened last time, totally my fault)

Anyways, lets see what can i look forward to this week? Sleeping over the gf's house tomorrow night, Tuesday or Wednesday volunteer work at the bike kitchen, on Friday I'm definitely going to watch Paper Heart, which looks like a fantastic movie starring charlyne yi and michael cera. (sounds like a plug doesn't it?)

I'm not gonna lie though, think i got the hots for charlyne yi, ever since that scene in Knocked up.

The only thing i hope for is that its not a mediocre film like adventure land. I really liked Nick and Norrah's infinite playlist type of movie but I'm just hoping that this has almost the same formula. I wouldn't doubt a michael cera movie but hearing about adam sandler's Funny people and how its not as funny for a judd apatow film....i have my doubts for new comedy films.

Eh...but i'm the type of person that likes crappy comedy movies....

It feels weird not working for a long period of time. I think the only reason why it feels weird is because i've been so used to working these rigorous schedules for work that now that i have all this free time...I have no idea what i should do or how to spend my time wisely with what i have.

Sure i can spend countless of hours playing games that i couldn't finish while i have been working at Underground Development but it just doesn't fulfill my appetite of learning. Before i left UGD, i had lined up a few projects i wanted to do but realizing that those projects NEED money. I quickly threw them on the back burner, well for the meantime.

One of those projects i actually wanted to pursue was making an Arcade stick for my PC/PS3, a little bit like this one.......but in order to make one...I need to spend at least 80 dollars on the box(http://www.norrisarcadesticks.com/) and parts. I've been watching a bunch of tutorial videos on Youtube on how to make an arcade stick and finally found one for the x360 controller.

I'll probably start on the project right away once i get more money....but for now its going to wait.

God i need a job.

I Can Haz Free Iphone Apps?!

So i have ventured into the same path i always go with piracy and this time i have gotten myself into Iphone Apps. Yes! You know those useless apps that cost $1.99 are now free to me and to you if and only if your iphone is jailbroken.

Those who don't want to risk anything with your phone....I'm sorry but you're gonna just have to pay apple for those useless fart apps.

Anyways! Lets get down to business, First and foremost you're going to jailbreak your phone if you haven't already done it. If you have, you can skip this video i'm going to post up for those who haven't jailbroken their iphones.

Quick Note: The guy in the video talks exactly like my cousin guillermo.

Anyways, back on topic.

So we got a jailbroken phone and you want those free apps.

Okay so now we're gonna get you started:

After jailbreaking your phone you should have an app called Cydia. It should look like this -

Tap open cydia and go into the manage tab, then go into Sources.

Hit edit on the top right corner and hit add right after and type this in:

Http://cydia.hackulo.us and hit done once you're finished.

After that you're gonna go back into the main menu of cydia and click on the search tab.

Search for "AppSync for OS 3.0"

Download it and Install it (It does this automatically)

After you're done with that, it is now time to download IPA (Iphone Application) files.

You're gonna get these IPA files from anywhere you want but my favorite site at the moment is

Just click on any of the apps you want, Click on the provided links and make sure you download the latest version of the app.

The download links are under the column Download (Duh)

So once you downloaded an IPA file, its time to install that file into itunes.

You may ask...how do i do that sir? Well its simple you Moron, Double click that bitch and you're set. After that, all you need to really do is sync your phone with itunes and presto you got free apps.

Any Drawbacks? Well i can't really say at the moment. I haven't read about some of the drawbacks on the forums i visited but there might be so be careful. If i do find any i'll keep you posted on my blog.

So here we go again....starting off fresh again. I'm been experimenting with different make-you-own blog websites and finally decided to stay on this one for sure. Sure Tumblr had really cool features and even its own app on the iphone...but i'm not sure if i want to continue posting for tumblr. We'll see.

So It's day two of my unemployment and i'm feeling a bit stressed because i gave a bunch of money to my moms for rent, since my dad took half of it to canada. It's a hassle but i don't mind helping her out i mean...c'mon that's what sons are for right? So now I'm feeling a bit broke and i'm hesitating from signing up for unemployment because....i'm seriously fucking lazy right now. I don't want to go through a bunch of paper work to get another batch of paper work to sign in order to get my measely 200 check from california. Ugh.....

Well now i'm going to try to enjoy 4th of july and hopefully spend time with some family and friends and especially with the gf.
